The optimization of YouTube videos is a very interesting art… okay it’s not super compelling, but I get a kick out of it. The basic idea is to make sure that your content links to other content that links to a place where you want to direct people’s attention. By using tags, end cards, info cards, and even placement of elements on a YouTube channel, you can direct your viewers where you wish. The goal is to appear high in search results. The images below involved using a program called VidIQ which tracks the stats of videos. The highlighted numbers in blue to the right of a video signify where a video appears in search results for that specific term. Below are some examples of videos I have optimized.
